KATE Garraway suffered an awkward Good Morning Britain blunder today as she tried to chat to a “pre-recorded” clip of Christine Lampard.
Kate, 52, forgot that Friday’s instalment of ITV’s Lorraine is filmed on Thursdays and she tried to laugh off the gaffe as a “sound issue” – but viewers weren’t impressed.
Kate had been looking for sympathy from Christine over the effect of Britain’s heatwave on her hair.
She said: “Christine knows what I mean! Christine, don’t you Christine, the frizzy hair?”
But when the Irish host, who is standing in for Lorraine Kelly this summer, failed to respond, Kate spluttered: “She wasn’t ignoring us you know.
She added: “It was just a sound problem.”
Adil Ray laughed it off and Charlotte Hawkins chimed “she had no idea what we were talking about”.
But viewers were annoyed at the presenters trying to pull the wool over their eyes.
One person said: “Friday c**k up again, going to Christine to ask a question but it’s pre-recorded on a Friday.”
Another scoffed: “No Kate, it wasn’t a sound problem at all. We all now Friday’s Lorraine is pre-recorded.”
Later, grumpy viewers also spotted Keith Lemon and Paddy McGuinness on the Lorraine sofa wearing the same clothes that they had on yesterday during an interview on This Morning.
One viewer groaned: “Keith n paddy wearing the same clothes as when they gate crashed #thismorning live yesterday.
“#Lorraine this pre recorded Friday episode has holes all over it.”
